Michigan: Wolverines suffers at least 2 conference losses and don’t win 10 games

I’ll just lay it out right here: I don’t get it with Michigan. They won 10 games last year, but losing to Notre Dame early and then being embarrassed by Ohio State (again) and Florida in the bowl game put a damper on things. All that with a better team. There’s no way you’re convincing me that a team who lost Karan Higdon, and on the defensive side, Devin Bush, Tyree Kinnel, Chase Winovich and Rashan Gary is better than a team this season.

Let’s get this out of the way right now: Michigan will not beat Ohio State. Ohio State has more talent and Michigan had a great chance to win last year, but 62-39 happened. Again, 62 points with all that defensive talent not there anymore. Look for an extremely underrated Iowa team, in between soft games with Rutgers and Illinois, to upset the Wolverines too. And if Wisconsin gets their quarterback situation fixed, don’t sleep on the Badgers to pull the upset, either.

Virginia Tech: Hokies bounce back and flirt with 10 wins

The Hokies’ schedule this year sets up nicely for them. You could say the same about last year too, but they won’t lose to teams like Old Dominion this year. In fact, Old Dominion, Furman and Rhode Island set up nicely for 3 wins right there.

With 16 starters back, including 10 on defense, both sides of the ball will improve, especially in a Coastal division with some teams firmly in a rebuild. If the Hokies can flip games against Georgia Tech and Pitt, a showdown against Virginia could be not only for 10 wins, but the Coastal division title.
