The 2019 College football season is officially underway, which means Saturdays won’t be as lonely for Notre Dame football fans.

After an undefeated regular season and trip to the College Football Playoff, everyone was put on notice that Notre Dame football might truly be back. While the result wasn’t ideal, the Irish proved that they’re taking this program in the right direction after last season.

Clemson made sure that there was a gap between them and the rest of the nation on their way to being crowned National Champions. With that, the narrative became that Notre Dame is “almost” back.

Almost back or not, the Irish are here and fully loaded for the 2019 season.

Head coach Brian Kelly lost some immensely talented players to the draft from last season. The names on the field might not ring the way those like Jerry Tillery, Drue Tranquill or Te’von Coney did, but the Irish could be fielding one of their most complete teams in the Kelly era.

Kelly finally has his quarterback with no controversy throughout summer. After last season, it was clear cut who the quarterback would be. Although Phil Jurkovec is a tremendous talent and made strides throughout camp, it was never in doubt that Book would be under center this season.

This has freed up Chip Long to build his system and the identity of the offense around Book.

Offensively, Notre Dame has weapons identical to the 2006 Irish team. On the defensive side, last season mirrored that of the monster line from 2012. This season, the defense is just as loaded.

Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah have learned behind the best and look ready to fill the shoes of the previously dangerous defense of last years Irish.

The versatility of Notre Dame’s offensive weapons is yet another reason to be extremely optimistic of what the Irish can provide on the field this season.

With a fully equipped team ready to take on the 2019 season, we take a look at three bold predictions for Notre Dame football.
