Former Notre Dame Miles Boykin receiver got in on the most explosive offensive performance in the NFL on Sunday, scoring his first touchdown as a professional.

The Baltimore Ravens absolutely shredded the Miami Dolphins 59-10 on Sunday. Former Notre Dame wide receiver Miles Boykin got in on the action via a five yard touchdown reception for his first NFL score.

It was his only target of the game, but it was also a demonstration of how he’ll be used moving forward and what is to come. Boykin is best suited as a possession receiver and red zone target in Baltimore’s offense. The presence of Marquise “Hollywood” Brown almost guarantees that Boykin will see one-on-one coverage when both are on the field.

Moving forward, look for Boykin to be leaned on more between the 20s against higher quality opponents.

Up in Minnesota, former Notre Dame safety Harrison Smith paced a dominant defensive effort for the Minnesota Vikings in their win over the Atlanta Falcons. He led the Vikings with nine total tackles and knocked away two passes. His efforts we instrumental in limiting the high-powered Falcon offense to just 12 points.

Other notable Irish in the NFL performances from Week 1:

  • Jaylon Smith logged six total tackles in a 35-17 Dallas Cowboys win over the New York Giants
  • Jerry Tillery didn’t pop off the stat sheet, but he did log the first NFL tackle of his career in the 30-24 Los Angeles Chargers overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Next. Notre Dame bye week to-do list. dark

Tonight on Monday Night Football, former Notre Dame receiver Will Fuller will take the field for the Houston Texans for the first time since tearing in ACL last season. He was held out during preseason, but it sounds like he’ll be ready to go tonight with no limitations. The Texas take on the New Orleans Saints tonight in the first game of a double-header on ESPN.
