Well Notre Dame football fans, the time has come. It is Georgia week. Here are the Notre Dame players you should start or sit in college fantasy football this weekend.

As you might have guessed, there are not quite as many favorable matchups for the Irish as there were last weekend against New Mexico. The Georgia Bulldogs are the best team on the 2019 Notre Dame schedule. Traveling down to Athens for the game makes the task at hand that much more difficult for Brian Kelly’s team.

I do have one bit of advice that I would like to share before I get into the starts and sits of the week. If comparable players are available on your bench or in free agency, start them instead of the Notre Dame players this week. Fantasy football is not just about picking the best players. If you want to win your league, you need to pay close attentions to the matchups each and every week.

With that said, here is the latest edition of start ’em sit ’em for Notre Dame players in college fantasy football.

Start ‘Em

Chase Claypool (WR)

If I had to bet on one Notre Dame player (excluding Ian Book) to score a touchdown this weekend, it would be Chase Claypool. Why is that? It might have something to do with the fact that he is arguably the most athletic player on the Irish offense.

When playing an elite opponent in a hostile environment, you depend on your star players to make big plays. Claypool has become that type of player for Notre Dame. I expect Ian Book to look for Claypool early and often in this game. Based on what we have seen from the Irish offense in the run game so far, it is safe to assume that we will see a pass-heavy scheme from Chip Long’s offense on Saturday.

Chris Finke (WR)

When the Slap the Sign staff voted for player superlatives this offseason, one of the categories was “Mr. Reliable.” My vote for that category: Chris Finke.

Finke has become a mainstay on the Notre Dame offense (and on special teams). The former walk-on has ascended into a leadership role and was named a team captain this offseason. When the going gets tough in Athens, players on the Notre Dame offense will lean on their leaders like Finke. As he has done so many times in the past, I think he will deliver.

Like I said, I think Ian Book and the Irish offense will throw the ball a ton in this game. After Chase Claypool, the next receiver in line for targets is Chris Finke.
