Sit ‘Em

And all other Notre Dame running backs while you are at it…

The Irish have had some struggles running the ball in their first two games. The running backs as a unit have rushed for 198 yards and are averaging 4.1 yards per carry. That might not sound too bad, but those statistics came after playing two mediocre defenses. I can promise that Georgia’s defense will be much much better.

I am hopeful that the Notre Dame run game will improve, but until they do (or until Jafar Armstrong returns), you will not see any Irish running backs in the Start ‘Em section of this column.

Notre Dame Defense (DST)

The Georgia offense is lead by an experienced quarterback in Jake Fromm, who is protected by one of the best offensive lines in college football. That talented offensive line also helps open up holes for the equally talented running backs on their team.

What does all that mean? Well, it is going to be difficult to pressure Jake Fromm. The Irish defense will not be able to create many sacks or bad throws. That means there will be a low probability of turnovers. On top of that, the Bulldogs should be able to run the ball and put points on the board.

Bottom line: there are much better options for a starting defense in college fantasy football this week. Check out that waiver wire.
