Irish in the NFL: Jaylon Smith dominates for Dallas

Here’s how some of your favorite former Notre Dame football players fared over the weekend in the NFL.

Another week of NFL action is in the books. Several Notre Dame players logged significiant stats to help assist in their respective teams’ causes. Irish players continue to be factors for many of the premier teams in the National Football League.

Let’s look at what got a few former Notre Dame players into the box score.

Jaylon Smith, Linebacker, Dallas Cowboys

Jaylon logged ten tackles and forced a fumble in a 31-6 win over he Miami Dolphins. He has 27 total tackles through three games so far in 2019.

Zack Martin, Guard, Dallas Cowboys

Martin was part of an offensive line unit that only allow one sack on 32 pass attempts and opened holes for the Cowboys to run for 235 yards on 34 carries (6.9 yards per carry).

Harrison Smith, Safety, Minnesota Vikings

Harrison logged four tackles with one pass defended and an interception in a 34-14 win over the Oakland Raiders. He’s having another All Pro-caliber season, as he has 19 tackles, four passes defended and a pick through three games.

Will Fuller, Wide Receiver, Houston Texans

Will was targeted seven times, catching five passes for 51 yards in a 27-20 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. He has 11 receptions for 160 yards so far this season.

Stephon Tuitt, Defensive End, Pittsburgh Steelers

Stephon logged seven tackles and a sack in a 24-20 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The Steelers may be struggling, but Tuitt is quietly putting together a solid year. He has 11 total tackles and 3.5 sacks so far this season.

C.J. Prosise, Running Back, Seattle Seahawks

C.J. caught five passes for 38 yards in a 33-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints. He’s continues to excel as a receiver out of the backfield.
