Advantage-Notre Dame
Notre Dame has two offensive linemen that are projected to go in the first round of the draft in Liam Eichenberg and Tommy Kraemer. Eichenberg and Kraemer were all named to the preseason watchlist for the John H. Outland Trophy, awarded to the best interior lineman in college football.  Jarrett Patterson was named to the preseason watchlist for the Dave Rimington Award, given to the best center in college football. Their offensive line is more experienced and decorated, but will have its work cut out against an elite pass rushing group in Virginia that leads college football in sacks with 20 on the season.  Virginia’s offensive line has allowed seven sacks already this year and will face a difficult task containing Irish pass rushing talents Julian Okwara and Khalid Kareem. With both defenses possessing elite pass rushing abilities, offensive line play will be a critical determining factor as to who wins the football game.
