Advantage-Virginia
Virginia has one of the most productive linebacking groups in all of college football. Their linebackers account for 14 of their 20 sacks on the season. In addition, the Cavalier linebacking group possesses great tackling skills, so don’t anticipate them giving the Irish offense any free yardage, due to missed tackles. The group, led by Snowden, a preseason watchlist candidate for the Butkus Award and Mack, a preseason candidate for the Bronco Nagurski Award, is as elite as any linebacking group that the Irish will face all year. They bring pressure to the quarterback from all over the field and will present a major test for the Notre Dame offensive line.
