Notre Dame posted its first shutout since 2014 — this one against the guy who helped them achieve the previous shutout.

Honorable Mentions

Tariq Bracy

The sophomore cornerback was quite impressive in his first career start for Notre Dame. Bracy got the start in place of injured Shaun Crawford. After his performance Saturday, look for Bracy to continue to fill the starting role until Crawford is healthy enough to return. While it was against a very weak opponent in Bowling Green, Bracy tallied four tackles, two passes defended, and a forced fumble. For a full breakdown of Bracy’s stats, click here.

Jamir Jones

Jamir Jones looked hungry and ready to play once again in this week’s game. After getting some quality playing time and making plenty of use of it during last week’s games against Virginia, Jones played well again this week. With Daelin Hayes out for the season, look for Jones to take over that backup role and be a big part of that dominant defensive front. Jones finished the day with four total tackles, two tackles for loss — one of which was for a sack. For a full breakdown of Jones’s stats, click here.

Jalen Elliot

While he might not have had his best game in an Irish uniform, Elliot still played well and grabbed another interception — his second of the season. To go along with his interception the senior captain also tallied six tackles. For a full breakdown of Elliot’s stats, click here.

Defensive Player of the Game

Kyle Hamilton

The freshman continues to impress and I think it’s safe to assume that Notre Dame fans can’t get enough of it. This kid is special and we can’t take him for granted. While he didn’t light up the stat sheet, Hamilton definitely made his presence known physically. He had a couple of very big hits in this game. Overall, Hamilton tallied four tackles against Bowling Green. For a full breakdown of Hamilton’s stats, click here.
