Huge Recruiting Weekend

One of the biggest gripes about Notre Dame is it’s seeming lack of star-power in recruiting on a consistent basis. Granted, it’s hard for anyone to match the production of schools like Alabama, Georgia, and Clemson, but the more you can close that gap, the better off you will be in the long run.

That’s what Notre Dame is doing, and securing commitments from guys over Alabama, Clemson, etc. helps you compete with them down the road.

As if a huge rivalry game wasn’t enough to focus on this weekend, Notre Dame is also hosting a handful of some of the best players in the country and looking to make some headway on the recruiting front.

Among the players visiting, which includes a few highly-touted basketball players, are 5-star running back Will Shipley, 4-star receiver Lorenzo Styles Jr., and 4-star offensive lineman Rocco Spindler. Additionally, former Ohio State safety Isaiah Pryor will be taking an official visit to South Bend this weekend as well, which would be a huge addition for the future of the secondary to pair with true freshman Kyle Hamilton.

So, if there was ever a weekend for Brian Kelly and the Irish to put together a complete game and dismantle one of their biggest rivals, this would be it.
