Advantage-Notre Dame

Notre Dame holds a strong advantage at the tight end position, as Cole Kmet is one of the best tight ends in all of college football. His ability to go up and get anything thrown in his vicinity is unparalleled. Since returning from a preseason broken collarbone that cost him the first couple games of the season, Kmet has emerged as Ian Book’s favorite target. Despite missing two games, Kmet is second on the team in receiving yards.

In addition, Kmet was named to the preseason watchlist for the John Mackey Award, given to the best tight end in college football.

Sophomore, Tommy Tremble, who filled in admirably for an injured Kmet, has shown potential in the receiving game, despite limited targets. Tremble currently is fifth in receiving yards for the Irish.

For the Wolverines, the senior Eubanks is fourth on the team in receiving yards, trailing only the three elite receivers of Michigan. Meanwhile, Sean McKeon appeared on the preseason watchlist for the John Mackey Award for the Wolverines.
