Jafar Armstrong is Actually Back

After it was reported Armstrong would see a handful of snaps during the USC game, the versatile running back only had one touch for -4 yards. Whether his limited touches and snaps were predetermined or a product of a comfortable lead and the hot legs of Tony Jones Jr., Armstrong’s talents were still missed by the offense.

Now, after another two weeks of rehab and preparation on his groin, Jafar Armstrong will be back in the lineup and ready to roll for the first time since early in the Louisville game.

As I said in the storylines vs USC, with Armstrong sidelined, the Irish have missed having that dynamic playmaker out of the backfield who can make guys miss and catch passes. It is an element of the offense that has been missing, and not one that can be created with the abilities of Tony Jones Jr.

NOW, for the first time all season, the Notre Dame offense will have all of their offensive weapons healthy and available, and it couldn’t come at a better time. With the play of the defense as of late, an improved and more high-powered offense could be the perfect recipe for a late season CFP push.
