Back at The Big House

Not much has to be said about Notre Dame and huge primetime games anymore. It’s beating a dead horse to continue to point out that often times the Irish have struggled in these type of situations, most recently vs. Georgia.

The bigger story here is that Notre Dame football returns to The Big House, one of the loudest and most epic environments in all of college football.

The Irish are 0-4 in their last four trips to Michigan, with their last win in The Big House coming in 2005. That is almost hard to imagine, but historically this rivalry has not been kind to Notre Dame on the road, with a 7-14 all-time record in Ann Arbor.

There aren’t many advantages Michigan has coming into this game, but one they do have is the atmosphere and home-field energy of 110,000 fans draped in that ugly maize.

Rivalry games are intense as it is, and teams always play energized, inspired football for them. Add in the fact that it is a home game vs. a highly ranked rival in Notre Dame, and the Irish should expect nothing less than Michigan’s best game of the season.
