Advantage-Michigan
Notre Dame linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah has had a breakout season for the Irish in his first year at the rover position. Owusu-Koramoah has played like a man possessed this year, coming up large in big games for the Irish.
Fellow linebackers Asmar Bilal and Drew White have played admirably, considering that this is the first season that both have started at their respective positions for the Irish. While not overly flashy, the Irish linebackers are fundamentally sound and will not hurt Notre Dame.
The Michigan linebacking group is led by one of the best linebackers in the nation in Khaleke Hudson. Hudson is in the top 30 in college football in tackles this year and is an absolute wrecking ball at the viper position for the Wolverines. Hudson was listed on the preseason watchlist for the Butkus Award (nation’s best linebacker) and was joined on that list by fellow Michigan linebacker, Josh Uche.
Together, Hudson and Uche anchor one of the most athletic and hardest hitting linebacker groups in college football. As a result, the advantage at the linebacker position leans in favor of Michigan.
