For the first time since 1961, Notre Dame will travel to Duke this Saturday for a primetime kickoff.

It might be walking the line as far as being considered a national game, but Notre Dame football is still technically playing under that category with the game shown on the ACC Network.

Notre Dame enters the game at 6-2 after just narrowly beating Virginia Tech last week 21-20 thanks to some late-game heroics from Chase Claypool and Ian Book. But a win is a win nonetheless and it’s kept Notre Dame’s name in the running for a possible New Year Six bowl.

Obviously the playoff hopes are all but a distant memory with Michigan easily handing the Irish their second loss of the season, but there’s still more to play for.

Duke, on the other hand, has had a slight up and down season. It was expected that the Blue Devils would be a respectful team and to start the season they fulfilled that.

Things since have taken a downward trend after losing three of their last four games with two of them only being by three points.

With everything taken into factor, Duke is still a relatively dangerous team that could find a way to make this weekend much closer than anticipated, just as Virginia Tech was able to do last week.

The question now has become what Notre Dame team will we see.

With two losses on Notre Dame’s record, many coach’s names are being dropped as potential replacements for Brian Kelly. The outside noise continues to grow louder, but as always we’ll take it one game at a time with our three bold predictions versus Duke.
