Chase and Cole Explosion

It’s not a secret by any means that Chase Claypool and Cole Kmet have been the most consistent threats on the offensive side of the ball. From week one, Claypool has been Book’s favorite target and from the moment Kmet returned vs Georgia, he’s been on absolute tear.

Claypool has already surpassed his previous career highs in yards and touchdowns and is nine catches away from surpassing that career high as well. Heading into Saturday, he’s recorded 42 receptions for 651 yards, and 5 touchdowns.

As for Kmet, many anticipated this type of season from him, considering the tools and physical traits he possesses. After returning from a broken collarbone, he wasted little time catching up and making an impact. His 29 receptions, 327 yards, and 5 touchdowns are all career bests by a long shot, and week-in and week-out he continues to create mismatches.

Against a Navy defense that has yet to play anyone with the talent level of either Claypool OR Kmet, it is safe to expect monster days from both of them.

Anticipate both to be key factors in the passing game and for Book to look for them early and often. You have two starting NFL-caliber offensive weapons — put the ball in the air and use them to your advantage.
