Notre Dame alums shine in Week 12 of NFL season

Several former Notre Dame football players got their names on the stat sheet in their respective NFL games during Week 12.

Week 12 of the 2019 NFL season is in the books. As usual, a handful of former Notre Dame football players made their impact felt in their respective contests over the weekend.

Here were some notable performances by some of your favorite former Irish players.

Jaylon Smith, Linebacker, Dallas Cowboys

Smith logged eight total tackles and defended a pass in the 13-9 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday.

Will Fuller, Wide Receiver, Houston Texans

Fuller had a monster game but could not find the end zone on Thursday Night Football. He was targeted 11 times, catching seven passes for 140 yards in Houston’s 20-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Golden Tate, Wide Receiver, New York Giants

Tate caught three passes for 33 yards and a touchdown in New York’s 19-14 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday. He now has four touchdown grabs on the year after missing the first four games of the 2019 season.

Julian Love, Defensive Back, New York Giants

Love logged a tackle, defended a pass and recorded the first interception of his NFL career in New York’s loss to the Bears. Congrats to Julian Love, and here’s to many more interceptions in the NFL!

Romeo Okwara, Defensive End, Detroit Lions

Okwara logged five total tackles in Detroit’s 19-16 loss to the Washington Redskins on Sunday.

Miles Boykin, Wide Receiver, Baltimore Ravens

Boykin caught two passes for 54 yards in Baltimore’s 45-6 blowout win over the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football.

Looking at the current NFL standings, Notre Dame fans may want to clear their schedule for the NFL Playoffs. Some of the best teams in the league right now have former Irish playing instrumental roles in their success, including a handful of impact offensive lineman.
