Looking to reach 10 wins for the third straight season, Notre Dame takes on Stanford in Palo Alto. Here is everything you need to know before kickoff.

In the Brian Kelly era at Notre Dame, trips to Palo Alto to face Stanford have not spelled good things for the Irish.

However, this season is most definitely a down year for Stanford and Notre Dame is a much better team than the Cardinal this time around. Stanford has been tortured with injuries this season and it hasn’t stopped.

Losing nearly all of its offensive line, the Cardinal have been forced to use players that were not ready to play at the collegiate level yet — and it has showed.

Now, let’s move onto the specifics of today’s matchup.

Kickoff: 4:00 pm EST

Channel: ABC

Location: Stanford Stadium, Stanford, CA

Line: Notre Dame -16.5

Weather: At kickoff, it will be 53 degrees with 77 percent humidity. The forecast shows the chance of rain at 70 percent, with winds coming out of the SE at 18 mph.

Series history: Notre Dame leads 19-13

Top storylines:

  • Can Brian Kelly finally beat Stanford in Palo Alto? Currently Kelly is 0-5 in games against Stanford away from home, a mark he surely wants to erase.
  • Can Stanford rally the (injured) troops and get a big win against an ND team hoping to get its third 10-win season in a row?
  • Will Notre Dame find the running game against a depleted Stanford defense?

Injury report:

  • Notre Dame WR Joe Wilkins is nursing a hamstring injury and is listed as questionable.
