Key Defensive Player for Stanford: Casey Toohill, LB

As stated before, Stanford has had so many injuries all over the field that it is now down to one of its only healthy upperclassmen in the name of Casey Toohill.

Toohill has been reliable when he has played for the Cardinal.

The 6’4″, 250 pound linebacker leads Stanford with 54 tackles on the season. He is a true playmaker, and leads Stanford’s defense in sacks with eight and he has forced a fumble on the season as well.

He will be key in limiting what Ian Book and the Notre Dame offense does.

Key Defensive Player for Notre Dame: Drew White, LB

‘Mr.Reliable’ for the Notre Dame defense this season, White has been immense.

Tallying over 70 tackles along with two sacks, White has been a true breakout player in every sense of the word for this Notre Dame defense. The linebacker position was a true position of worry in the offseason but his emergence along with Asmar Bilal has silenced any sort of worry.

Stanford will have its third string QB starting and White’s play will be very important in making sure Stanford gets nothing going offensively.
