Cole Kmet (2017-Present)

When Kmet finally got his chance this season, he showed why many felt he was the best Notre Dame tight end since Tyler Eifert. Injuries have derailed his career so far, and even this year he was forced to miss the first 3 games of the year. Last year it was an ankle injury and this year is was a broken collarbone, but even with all of that, some think he is the best tight end in the country. If he ends up declaring early, could go 1st round. He is simply that special of a player.

In only 9 games this season, he has 41 catches, 482 yards and 6 touchdowns. The 6 touchdowns tie him for the most ever by a Notre Dame tight end in single season. He also never recorded a touchdown before this season. His presence was felt early on this year when he surprised Notre Dame fans by how quickly he healed from his collarbone injury and caught 9 passes for 108 yards and his first career touchdown at Georgia on September 21st. That trend would continue while he went on a 4 game touchdown streak in the middle of the season, starting with Bowling Green and finishing with Virginia Tech.

Unfortunately for Kmet, he really only has one year of true, healthy production this decade and if he does in fact return for his senior season, his likely two best seasons will be in different decades. Selfishly, let’s hope it happens.
