Notre Dame looks to capture their first win of 2020 and snap their current four-game losing streak as they go head to head against fellow conference opponent Pittsburgh.

Notre Dame was winless in the month of December; however, to start the new year, the Irish have a great opportunity to not only get their first win of 2020 but to also end their losing streak along with getting their first conference win of the season.

Pittsburgh was also winless in December and look to end their current 5-game losing streak along with getting their first conference win of the year.

A win for either team would be a great morale booster to start the new year. Notre Dame has a successful resume against Pittsburgh; however, this Notre Dame team isn’t like past teams, and there is still a lot of developing that is occurring. Pittsburgh will have a good chance to come into today’s game and end their dreaded losing streak against the Irish.

Key Players

Aysia Bugg and Amber Brown are two key players to watch on Pittsburgh. Aysia Bugg is a lethal offensive scorer who can score from anywhere on the court. She shoots 36 percent from behind the arc and averages 14.5 points per game. Amber Brown averages 11.6 points per game and she excels on the offensive and defensive glass, averaging 8.3 rebounds a game.

Sam Brunelle has had back-to-back games where she hasn’t played to her max potential. Pittsburgh’s opponents score nearly 70 points per game and with a weak defense like Pittsburgh’s, this will be a good opportunity to play a solid game and get her confidence up for the future.

After tonight, someone’s losing streak will end and they will have their first win of 2020.
