When Quenton Nelson announced that he would be leaving Notre Dame to declare for the NFL draft, he was seen as a generational talent at guard, with many draft experts stating that he may be the best guard prospect to enter the NFL draft in many decades.

So it should come as no surprise that Nelson was named to PFF’s first-team All-Pro list this season. Nelson was named to the list last year as a rookie and graded out even better this season with a score of 91.2 after receiving a grade of 74.4 last season.

Last season, Nelson was flagged for nine penalties and allowed two sacks on the season in 1136 snaps. This season he was penalized only three times, while not allowing a sack in 1042 snaps on the season. The fact that he did not allow a single sack is extremely impressive, as Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett is known for his propensity to hold onto the ball longer than the average NFL quarterback.

Nelson, the sixth overall pick in the 2018 draft by the Colts, was named to his second Pro Bowl in as many years in the league, as well as being named a first-team All-Pro for the second consecutive year. His future is as bright as any player in the game and he has certainly lived up to the massive amount of hype surrounding him.
