Top 5 Offensive Players Notre Dame football will face in 2020
By J.P. Scott
The Notre Dame football team will take on some of the most dangerous players in all of college football during the 2020 season.
The 2020 Notre Dame football season will be here before we know it. April turns to August in the blink of an eye. Speaking of “blink of an eye”, that’s how fast some of the players the Irish face in 2020 can put points on the scoreboard.
Here are the Top 5 offensive players Notre Dame football will face in 2020.
5. Micale Cunningham, QB, Louisville
Cunningham earned the starting role by season’s end in 2019 and finished the year with 22 touchdown passes and just 5 interceptions. Though not a prolific dual-threat player from the quarterback position, he is a capable runner. Cunningham piled up 482 yards at four yards per carry this past season.
4. Tyler Vaughns, WR, USC
Vaughns chose to return to L.A. for his senior season after three outstanding years in college so far. To date, the talented wideout has caught 189 balls for 2,395 yards and 17 scores. He’ll be the top target in the Trojan passing attack in 2020.
3. Kedon Slovis, QB, USC
Slovis exploded onto the college football scene as one of the most talented passers in the land in 2019. The kid shows maturity beyond his years and has the ability to make every throw. He’ll have a dangerous arsenal of playmakers at his disposal, comprising what should be one of the most explosive offensive attacks in the country next season.
2. Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson
Etienne has been one of the best all-around backs in the country for two seasons, and there’s no sign of that changing heading into the 2020 campaign. He runs hard — bigger than his size — between the tackles and has shown the ability to be dangerous as a receiver in Clemson’s offense.
1. Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson
It’s not often that a college football team heads into a new season with a sure-fire NFL quarterback under center, but that’s what Clemson has had in Lawrence for the better part of two seasons. He has it all: accuracy at every range, maturity, mobility, size, and championship experience. There’s not a college football coach in the country who wouldn’t trade their current quarterback for the services of Trevor Lawrence.
