The offensive line has been a perennial position of strength for Notre Dame, what does the offensive line look like as we look ahead to this fall?

With all five starters returning this fall, it is hard to not be excited about the Notre Dame offensive line. The amount of sheer experience and NFL-quality returning puts Notre Dame in a great position to return to the College Football Playoff and try to earn a 12th national championship.

The quality of the offensive linemen Notre Dame has put into the NFL in recent years has been nothing short of remarkable. When you think of the top offensive linemen in the entirety of the NFL at the moment, plenty of former Notre Dame players come to mind: Quenton Nelson, Zack Martin, Ronnie Stanley, Mike McGlinchey, Nick Martin, the list goes on and on.

It seems almost surreal to think that the current Notre Dame offensive line corps could potentially match the stardom of the player above, but the guys in the ranks right now most definitely do have that potential.

At the very least, each one of the starters on the 2020 Notre Dame offensive line is going to get a look at a job in the NFL. Even if this year’s starting offensive line isn’t drafted in next year’s draft, there is a good chance that they end up being signed as undrafted free agents at the very least.

While the O-line struggled a bit at times in 2019 with dumb penalties — namely false starts — (we are all looking at you, Liam Eichenberg), it has all offseason to figure out the miscommunications upfront and make this offensive line one of the best in the nation, as many are projecting it to be.

So, without further ado, let’s get into each individual position on the Notre Dame offensive line for the 2020 season and see exactly what we are working with.
