One of the biggest surprises of last season was just how great newly-appointed starter Jarrett Patterson was in 2019. He comes in No.1 here as the clear starter for the fall.

Initially recruited as a tackle, Patterson made the switch to center last season and absolutely flourished. Only a junior, the best days of Patterson’s career are ahead of him. As the current Notre Dame offensive line begins to graduate and head to the NFL, Patterson will likely stay at center but could also move back to tackle.

Next in line is the sophomore, Zeke Correll.

Correll redshirted last season but is expected to really push Patterson for the center position. Patterson will beat him out, but Correll is immensely talented. Standing at 6’4, 285 pounds, Correll is a big man with quick feet and he is very agile. 2020 may not be his time to shine, but the future is bright.

Coming in behind Correll at the center position is senior Colin Grunhard.

Severely undersized (6’0, 286 lb) and not quite at the same skill level as Patterson, Grunhard slots in here. Coming into Notre Dame as a walk-on, Grunhard has fought hard to be where he is now.

It is hard to imagine Grunhard receiving any serious playing time unless there is a barrage of injuries.
