Notre Dame football: Breakout candidates-Offense

Probably the most polarizing player on the current roster – Kevin Austin came to Notre Dame two years ago with lofty expectations, but it has taken him a while to settle into college. He played sparingly his freshman season and then was suspended for the 2019 season.

However, the buzz around Austin is still that of an elite college football player and NFL future prospect, and he should be viewed as the lead candidate as Ian Book’s go-to receiver for the 2020 season. Austin simply provides what most of the other guys on the roster don’t – and that is size and speed. Look for him to replace Claypool as the main outside weapon.
