Notre Dame football: Breakout candidates-Offense
Another guy in his third year with the program, C’Bo Flemister came to Notre Dame as an underrated recruit out of the Georgia High School ranks. In limited action last year, he looked to have an extra gear that the other Notre Dame running backs didn’t, and his natural downhill running style should carry well in college football.
While he is not overly big, he’s not afraid to lower his shoulder and pick up more yardage. With the uncertainty around Jafar Armstrong’s ability to stay healthy coupled with Flemister’s dual-threat abilities, the starting running back job is wide open.
Flemister has as good a shot as anyone to receive the brunt of the work. He wasn’t overly impressive last year stats wise – only 3.4 yards per carry – but he did score five times and should have better offensive line play.
