Lastly is the true freshman, Rylie Mills.

Entering Notre Dame last month as an early enrollee, Mills has already begun to practice with the team. It’s good to see a player like Mills — who will be an impact player for Notre Dame in the future — want to get on campus as soon as possible and get working.

Standing at 6’5, 275-pounds already, Mills has an impressive frame that puts him in contention for playing time immediately. Mills played defensive end in high school and has the speed to do so at the collegiate level if he needed to, but it looks like Notre Dame wants to use him and his speed at the DT.

Mills will most definitely redshirt this season to preserve a year of eligibility but do not be surprised if the staff gets him on the field for 3-4 games to see what he has.
