Notre Dame football: Realistic 2021 dream class – Offense

Will Shipley – Weddington (Matthews, North Carolina)  – Target 

While there are certainly other running back targets the Notre Dame football team could land and be extremely excited for, it is no secret that Shipley is atop the staff’s board when it comes to remaining targets in the class. Shipley is being sold as the next Christian McCaffrey by running backs coach, Lance Taylor and it is not hard to see why.

Don’t let the all-purpose back label fool you, Shipley is more than capable of being an every-down back in college and potentially the NFL – already standing at 5’11” and weighing 200-pounds. He is a do it all back that the staff covets more than anyone remaining on the board.

It will be a hard-fought battle for his talents, but he has mentioned that his intention to get back to campus before making a decision – as he was scheduled to be on campus this upcoming weekend. This looks like a Notre Dame – Clemson battle, and this is absolutely the type of battle they need to win if a top 5 class is the realistic goal.
