Brock Bowers – Napa (Napa, California) – Target

Xamarion Gordon – Warren (Downey, California) – Target

Morice Blackwell – Martin (Arlington, Texas) – Target

This was by far the toughest of the positions to pick on offense or defense, and there are several other prospects that could be inserted here. I elected to go with three guys in Bowers, Gordon and Blackwell. In the case of Gordon and Blackwell, both have been recruited by the staff to play ROVER, but I think in either case BUCK is also a possibility once they get into a college weight room.

Bowers is one of my favorite players in the 2021 class, and I don’t think Notre Dame is actually recruiting him to play linebacker. However, I think he would make an incredible off-ball linebacker at the college level and in this scenario, I have there. In reality, the coaching staff simply needs to push hard for his talents and let his body and skillset find the right position for him whether that be TE, Vyper or linebacker.

Gordon is the higher-rated prospect between himself and Blackwell and has an offer list to back up his four-star ranking. Notre Dame will have to fight to land his signature from the likes of Oregon, USC, and Oklahoma among others. Blackwell’s list of suitors is a bit smaller, but he does hold offers from Alabama, Baylor and Oklahoma State.

This is one position group where it feels the staff could take two and possibly even three guys, but could also take none for the second straight year. There are also players I really like that haven’t received a Notre Dame offer that I would very much like to see land one including Benjamin Perry, Tyler McLaurin, Ethan Calvert, Greg Penn III, and Mason Tufanga. It is hard to tell if Notre Dame is in the early stages with linebackers, if they are taking it slow, or if they simply don’t like the class that much.

Some prospects to keep in mind with offers already in hand include Donovan McMillon and Derrick Davis Jr., although Davis will likely start his career at safety and it starting to feel like they are on the outside looking in for him.
