On Thursday, Notre Dame basketball announced a three-game series with the Kentucky Wildcats. One of those three games will be played at a neutral site.

Notre Dame basketball will dance with a familiar partner in 2020, as the Irish announced that they will play the Kentucky Wildcats three times over the next three seasons.

In the three-part series, the Irish will travel to the iconic Rupp Arena in December 2020, while the Wildcats will come to Purcell Pavilion in 2022.

In 2021, however, the two programs will play at a neutral location that will be determined at a later date. This certainly begs the question of where the Irish and Wildcats will go for the middle game of the three they will play.

The Irish and the Wildcats have an interesting history that dates back probably longer than the average fan realizes. Of course, the most recent installment of the series took place in the 2015 Elite Eight game that saw the Wildcats hold off the Irish 68-66 and move on to the Final Four.

If the series holds true to form, these three games could be must-see entertainment.

Notre Dame and Kentucky are two of the most recognizable brands in college sports, with fans spanning across the country. That said, all three of these games will undoubtedly be a hot ticket, with the neutral site game being particularly interesting.

With these programs, a neutral site game would be very well-attended legitimately anywhere. For the Irish and the Wildcats, the world is their oyster. What potential venues make the most sense for the Irish and the Wildcats?
