The Notre Dame basketball staff has been real busy over the past few days, dishing out multiple offers to recruits in both the class of 2021 and 2022.

Notre Dame basketball head coach Mike Brey has been hot on the recruiting trail in recent days, looking to add talent to the Fighting Irish roster. One offer that caught my eye is 2022 prospect Isaac Traudt, a 6-foot-8, 195 pound wing from Grand Island, Nebraska.

According to Traudt’s twitter, the rising junior picked up offers from Notre Dame and Oklahoma yesterday, and is beginning to accumulate a pretty solid offer list that includes Creighton, Wisconsin, Oregon, Stanford, and a host of other schools.

Let me make this clear: I love Traudt’s game and I love that Mike Brey and the Irish coaching staff were able to get in on this particular prospect early in the game.

When watching Traudt’s film, it’s easy to see that he is oozing with potential. For a player who just completed his sophomore year of high school, there is a lot to be excited about.

One thing that jumped off the screen when watching Traudt was his quick release on the perimeter. For a player of his size, it would be easy to just rely on his ability to shoot over defenders, but Traudt makes the difficult shots look easy and has great footwork on the perimeter, which allows for him to get his shot off quickly.

Traudt obviously has a ton of physical tools to work with, but it’s his quick release that is the number one indicator that his game will translate to the next level, in my opinion.

While he spends a great deal of time on the perimeter, Traudt’s next step in his game will be adding strength — but with his frame, he has plenty of opportunity to continue to add muscle over the coming years.

Traudt likely will continue to accumulate the offers throughout his junior season, so Notre Dame getting in on the ground floor and establishing a relationship with him early bodes well for the Irish. When all is said and done, Traudt will likely make a tremendous stretch-four type of player and will make whatever program he chooses very happy.
