7. Isaiah Foskey (Defensive End)

As a true freshman last season, Foskey only appeared in four games. Under the new NCAA rule, he technically still has four years of eligibility remaining. The Notre Dame coaching staff fought hard to earn Foskey’s commitment in 2019, and the four-star defensive end has impressed the staff ever since he stepped on campus. He is still behind a couple of talented defensive ends on the depth chart, but he is set to step into a significant role this season.

6. Chris Tyree (Running Back)

Chris Tyree was one of the most highly-anticipated recruits in the 2020 class. The four-star running back out of Virginia held offers from Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Penn State, and Michigan. Not too shabby. Tyree’s most impressive skill is his elite speed, which is something that the Notre Dame football team has been lacking at times in recent years. Early reports from summer practices have included high praise of Tyree. Expect the true freshman to be involved in the running back rotation in 2020.

5. Jordan Genmark-Heath (Linebacker)

Genmark-Heath appeared in all thirteen games for the Irish last season. A good amount of his playing time in 2019 came on special teams, but the senior has an opportunity to be a big part of the linebacker rotation this season. The depth chart at the buck linebacker position is far from set in stone. A strong performance in these final weeks of fall camp could propel Genmark-Heath into the starting lineup.

4. Jayson Ademilola (Defensive Tackle)

Jayson Ademilola and his twin brother Justin joined the Notre Dame football team in 2018. As a true freshman, Jayson was able to make an immediate impact – appearing in 10 games and recording 19 total tackles. He then followed that up by recording 25 tackles in 11 games as a sophomore. Jayson is still behind Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa on the depth chart, but he should have a workload comparable to the other starters on the defensive line this season.
