21. C’Bo Flemister (Running Back)

Best Ranking: 8

Worst Ranking: Unranked

C’Bo Flemister was a three-star prospect from Zebulon, Georgia. He was a late addition to Notre Dame’s 2018 recruiting class. The Irish coaching staff pursued Flemister strongly after losing the commitment of Markese Stepp.

Flemister did appear in two games as a true freshman in 2018, but it was only in mop-up duty after the Irish had built a sizeable lead. Regardless of the game situation, it showed that the coaching staff saw his potential.

As a sophomore last season, C’Bo became a larger part of the running back rotation and even received some coveted touches in the red zone. He finished the season with 42 total carries, 132 rushing yards, and five touchdowns.

Heading into the offseason, Flemister had a promising trajectory. Many thought he would again be heavily involved in the running back rotation. However, competition in the running back position group has been fierce. The addition of true freshman Chris Tyree and emergence of Kyren Williams will make it tough for Flemister to see the field.

Full disclosure: our writers submitted their top 25 ballots prior to the start of Notre Dame’s summer practices. Hopefully that answers any questions our readers may have as they wonder why C’Bo Flemister is ranked so highly. I offer that context because it now appears that C’Bo may have dropped to fourth on the current running back depth chart.
