6. Drew White (Linebacker)

Best Ranking: 4

Worst Ranking: 15

Drew White was a three-star prospect out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was arguably the most underrated member of Notre Dame’s 2017 recruiting class.

As was expected, White took a redshirt during his first season with the team. During that season, he had the opportunity to learn under some talented linebackers like Nyles Morgan, Drue Tranquill, Tevon Coney, and Greer Martini.

White was not really expected to make much of an impact heading into the 2018 season. However, he made a surprising debut against Navy in October. In that game, he had six total tackles.

White would go on to appear in three more games that year and set himself up for a breakout season in 2019. And that is exactly what he did.

As a redshirt sophomore in 2019, White played in all 13 games and led the team in total tackles. He finished the year with 80 total tackles, two sacks, two quarterback hurries, a pass breakup, and two fumble recoveries.

Expectations are sky-high for Drew White heading into 2020. Entering his third season, he has received praise from defensive coordinator Clark Lea and is seen as a leader on the Notre Dame defense.
