8. Braden Lenzy (Wide Receiver)

Best Ranking: 6

Worst Ranking: 18

Braden Lenzy was a four-star wide receiver prospect out of Tigard, Oregon and a member of Notre Dame’s 2018 recruiting class. In high school, Lenzy was also a star track and field athlete. That aspect factored into his commitment decision because he had hopes of being a dual-sport athlete in college.

Naturally, the University of Oregon greatly appealed to Lenzy. Not long after he initially committed to Notre Dame in February of 2017, Lenzy flipped to Oregon.

However, that did not dissuade Brian Kelly and his staff from continuing their pursuit of the speedy wide receiver. The Irish coaching staff was steadfast and was eventually able to flip Lenzy back to Notre Dame in December of 2017.

After a rollercoaster of a recruitment, Lenzy was ready to make an impact on the field. Following a redshirt season in 2018, he was eager to make a name for himself in South Bend.

Lenzy appeared in nine games for Notre Dame during the 2019 season. He finished the year with 11 catches, 254 receiving yards, and two receiving touchdowns.

Former offensive coordinator Chip Long also made sure to utilize Lenzy’s speed in the run game as well. Lenzy finished the year with 13 carries, 200 rushing yards, and two touchdowns – including a blazing 51 yard touchdown run against USC.
