Darrian Felix-Running back

Keeping with the theme of transfer players who Notre Dame football fans should keep an eye on in the game against the University of South Florida on Saturday, the next player on this list is the University of Oregon transfer running back Darrian Felix.

In three years with the Oregon Ducks, Felix had 78 rushing attempts for 426 yards and three rushing touchdowns. He also chipped in eight receptions for 86 yards with the Ducks, as well as one kick return for 31 yards, serving primarily as a backup running back during his tenure at Oregon.

After transferring to the University of South Florida, Felix is expected to play a major role in the running game for the Bulls. Last week, he received only three carries for 11 yards. However, his production is expected to increase as the season progresses. That increase could begin as soon as this weekend against Notre Dame.

The 5’11” and 195-pound junior running back is a former 3-star recruit out of Fort Myers, Florida. Felix is a solid all-purpose running back with a good combination of power and speed. In addition, he has excellent athleticism, is shifty, and accelerates to the second level of the defense well.

While South Florida utilized a plethora of different ball carriers in week one of the season against The Citadel, if there is one running back that the Notre Dame defense should key in on, it is Felix. Given his pedigree and experience at Oregon, he is a prime candidate to take over the role as the lead back for the Bulls.
