The Notre Dame Fighting Irish host No. 1 Clemson tonight, and here are three bold predictions for the top-5 matchup.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have an opportunity to make a big statement against Clemson, as they look to cement their place as a legitimate College Football Playoff contender. Notre Dame has the talent on both sides of the ball to win this game, especially with Clemson a bit short-handed, but Ian Book and company will have to be perfect to do it.

Here are three bold predictions for this Top-5 matchup.

Defense holds Clemson under 25 points

Sure, 25 points is a lot, but when you play against an offense as talented as the Clemson Tigers, this is actually considered a win. Even without Trevor Lawrence, this is a team that put up 34 points against Boston College last weekend, so do not expect them to slow down, or change what they do.

In fact, the spread barely has moved in this matchup, so the oddsmakers are just as confident in true freshman DJ Uiagalelei. In addition, Travis Etienne is regarded as the best running back in the country, so if the Fighting Irish can keep them to under 25 points, that would go a long way in them possibly coming away with a victory.
