Ian Book and the No. 4 Notre Dame Fighting Irish welcome the Clemson Tigers to town in a matchup of two of the best teams in the country tonight. For Book and the Irish, this is an opportunity to establish themselves as a legitimate contender for a national title, but they will have to go through the top-ranked team in the country to do so.
We all know about Trevor Lawrence being out, and how his replacement is a true freshman making his first road college start. We also know that even despite that, this is a Clemson team that goes into this game as a decided favorite, and one that many of the experts feel will leave Notre Dame Stadium with the victory.
All games are played on the field, and this is a veteran Notre Dame team that should be able to go blow for blow with Clemson. If they can stay in this game throughout, there is no reason they cannot move to 7-0 Saturday night.
