Notre Dame MBB: Irish to be tested early, often in 2020-21 season

Three top-10 teams in the first nine games

Notre Dame will kick off their schedule against No. 13 Michigan State, traveling to East Lansing to take on Tom Izzo and his Spartans. Throughout the next eight games, the Irish will battle against Duke, Kentucky, and Virginia, all teams ranked in the top-10 of the preseason rankings.

Virginia and Duke are the consensus No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the ACC based on preseason polls, and they both are ranked in the top nine in the country. The No. 10 ranked team is the Kentucky Wildcats, who, like Virginia and Duke, will take on the Fighting Irish through the first nine games of Notre Dame’s 2020-21 campaign.

Duke newcomer Jalen Johnson is regarded as the top freshman in the conference, and Virgina has a trio of freshman who should see significant time this season. Overall, the road could be up and down for Notre Dame Men’s Basketball this season, but they do have talent to compete, and hopefully the players can gel early.
