The Notre Dame Fighting Irish take on Boston College this Saturday, and here are three things to keep an eye on in the matchup.

Coming off a program-defining victory against the No.1 Clemson Tigers, the No. 2 Notre Dame Fighting Irish will head to Boston College to take on the Eagles on Saturday. With College Football Playoff hopes very much alive, the Irish need to avoid a let-down against BC, and continue to march through what should be a soft schedule the rest of the way.

Here are three things to keep an eye on in the matchup Saturday.

Facing a familiar foe at quarterback

The man under center for the Boston College Eagles will be none other than Phil Jurkovec, the former Notre Dame backup who left South Bend for Chestnut Hill prior to the 2020 season. Jurkovec was a highly-touted prospect coming out of high school, but could never beat out Ian Book, and decided to take his talents elsewhere.

He has been terrific for the Eagles this season, throwing 15 touchdowns against only four interceptions, and nearly leading the team to an upset victory against Clemson a few weeks back. He knows what the Irish like to do, and has the talent around him to make plays, making him a player to keep an eye on this Saturday.
