Notre Dame Football at Boston College Eagles: 3 Biggest Surprises
By Jack Leniart
The Notre Dame Football Team beat Boston College on Saturday and improved to 8-0. While the result was expected, there were a few surprises in this game.
The Notre Dame football team went on the road this weekend and defeated rival Boston College by a final score of 45-31. The Irish should remain ranked at number two when the latest AP Poll is released on Sunday.
This matchup had all the makings of a trap game for Notre Dame. A rivalry game on the road one week after an emotional win over the top-ranked team in the country.
It was also the “Red Bandanna” game for Boston College this season. You are always guaranteed to get a fired-up Eagles team for that game each year. (Side note: If you do not know the story behind the “Red Bandanna,” I highly recommend looking it up.)
Boston College gave Notre Dame a scare early in this game when they jumped out to a 10-3 lead. However, the Irish were able to build a comfortable lead before halftime and finish the game strong.
The final result of this game was no real surprise. Taking care of business against inferior opponents has become part of the DNA of this Notre Dame football team. In the world of college football, that is a luxury.
There were some surprises that came from this game, though. Here are three things that surprised me while watching this game.
