The Notre Dame Football team moved to 8-0 on Saturday, and for quarterback Ian Book, he is on the precipice of becoming an immortal in South Bend.

The No. 2 Notre Dame Football team went into Saturday’s Holy War against Boston College looking to not have a letdown against the Eagles. The previous week, Notre Dame shocked the world by beating No. 1 Clemson, as Ian Book led his team to the stunning 47-40 double overtime win thanks to his arm and his legs.

On Saturday, Book once again put the Irish on his back, pummeling the Boston College Eagles with his arm, and his legs again, sending them to their eighth victory of the season. For Book, he has a chance to become an immortal in South Bend if he can continue this Irish win streak, but there is still a long way to go.

Since taking over as the starter from Brandon Wimbush during the 2018 college football season, Book has done nothing but win games. He led that Irish team to a College Football Playoff berth by putting together a 12-0 record, but lost to those same Clemson Tigers in the Cotton Bowl, 30-3.

In 2019, Book returned to South Bend and put together a monster season, statistically, posting multiple five-touchdown pass games. The Irish posted an 11-2 record, winning their final six games, including a victory over Northwestern in the Camping World Bowl.

That set the stage for the 2020 season, one that could make Book a generational player for the program.
