Notre Dame Football: C’Bo Flemister given high marks from PFF
By Brad Weiss
Stepping in for Kyren Williams against Boston College, C’Bo Flemister helped the Notre Dame football team to a convincing victory.
The Notre Dame football team took on rival Boston College this past weekend, and they went into the game looking to keep their perfect record alive in 2020. They were also riding a 13-game winning streak, the longest in the nation, and were coming off a victory against No. 1 Clemson the week before.
All of those statements can be proceeded by saying that the Irish let their guard down and lost to BC, but we all know that is not what happened. Instead, Notre Dame dropped 45 points on their rival, winning the game convincingly, although there were some scary moments.
Included in those moments were turnovers, including a fumble from Kyren Williams, the Irish’s star running back. After getting banged up later in the game, he was replaced by C’Bo Flemister, who put together a monster game in relief of Williams.
Flemister the second-highest graded Power-5 back of the Week
Coming into the game, it was Williams who had been getting all of the headlines, especially after a three-touchdown performance against Clemson. However, when he went down, and was kept out as a precaution, Flemister stepped up, and the rest is history.
When ranking their Power 5 backs for Week 11, Flemister was rated at No. 2 overall, which is high praise from PFF.
The junior suffered a leg injury that forced him to leave the game as well, but he should be ready to go next week against North Carolina. During the BC game, Flemister ran the ball ten times for 53 yards, scoring twice on the ground, and even raking in a 27-yard catch.
The Irish have their eyes set on the College Football Playoff, but still have to run through three unranked teams to get there. The Tar Heels have a high-powered offense of their own, but this Notre Dame team is firing on all cylinders, and should have their full compliment of running backs, including Flemister, back the next time they take the field.
