Notre Dame football quarterback Ian Book joined the Jim Rome show to discuss beating Clemson, and working with Tommy Rees.

The Notre Dame football team is the talk of college football right now, this after getting out to an 8-0 start to the season that includes a win against No. 1 Clemson. That was a career-defining victory for quarterback Ian Book, who is dominating the college football landscape in his last season in South Bend.

Last weekend, in what could have been a let-down game for the Irish, Book made sure his team took care of business, beating rival Boston College by the score of 45-31. He is in the middle of a magical season at Notre Dame, and could cement his place as one of the all-time great if he can continue this run of 14 straight games.

As the team heads into the bye week, Book is obviously a big get for any media outlet, and he sat down with one of the best in the business on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Book was on the Jim Rome show talking about a host of topics, including the win against the Tigers, and him working with offensive coordinator Tommy Rees. Book spoke about the win against Clemson and how it will be a memory that stands forever, and how he and his teammates had the game circled on the calendar forever.

Of course, there is a lot of work to be done in terms of the 2020 campaign, but the biggest test for the Notre Dame schedule has been passed by Book and company. There are no ranked teams left on the schedule, but the Irish have to continue to pound teams if they want to be one of the four teams selected to the College Football Playoff.

It has been a tremendous career for Book in South Bend, and he can go out on the highest of notes if the Irish can finish out the year by making a serious run at a national title. They have the talent on both sides of the ball to beat anybody right now, and in Book, they have the kind of veteran signal-caller that can get them to the Promised Land.
