The Notre Dame football team has the weekend off, but there are still plenty of games to keep an eye on for College Football Playoff purposes.

Sitting at 8-0, the Notre Dame football program is in the driver’s seat in terms of reaching the College Football Playoff this season. After being No. 1 Clemson a few weeks ago, the Fighting Irish are a virtual lock to make the ACC Championship Game, where a matchup with the Tigers likely looms.

This weekend, the Irish have their bye week, which comes at a perfect time, as they get healthy for the stretch run. While they will not take the field this weekend, there are games that will impact them moving forward, and we take a look at four of them here.

The No. 4 Clemson Tigers will get their quarterback back this weekend, as Trevor Lawrence makes his return from the COVID-19 list. Lawrence did not play when the Irish took on the Tigers a few weeks back, and will be looking to try and get his Heisman campaign back on track against a terrible Florida State team.

The once-proud Seminoles are one of the worst teams in the ACC this season, so there will likely be no contest in this one. With the win, the Tigers would move to 8-1 on the season, as they continue to make their march towards a rematch with the Irish in a could of weeks.
