Notre Dame Football at North Carolina Tar Heels: 3 things to watch
Irish coming off the bye week
Through his first 11 games coming off a bye week as head coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Brian Kelly sported a 10-1 record. That is some fantastic work when he has extra time to prepare, but last season, that certainly was not the case against the Michigan Wolverines.
Playing the No. 16 Wolverines as the No. 8 team in the country, the Irish laid an egg against Michigan, getting blasted by a score of 45-14 inside the Big House. While that would be the last game they would lose the rest of the way, it was really their last big test that season, and it permanently damaged any hopes of getting back to the College Football Playoff.
Notre Dame is the favorite heading into this one as well, and will be looking to avoid the kind of embarrassing loss like the one a year ago.
In what is likely their last hurdle before the ACC Championship Game, the Irish need to avoid the letdown once again on Friday. The line in Vegas is only three, so the experts expect this one to go down to the wire, and hopefully Notre Dame can leave Kenan Stadium with their perfect record in tact.
