The Notre Dame football program added a versatile athlete on Tuesday, as it was announced that JoJo Johnson would join the 2021 recruiting class.

Notre Dame football just keeps coming at you, this time with the 2021 class adding wide receiver/cornerback JoJo Johnson out of Indiana. Johnson has been to South Bend multiple times, and it’s always been his top choice of school whether people knew it or not. The Irish didn’t offer for quite awhile, but he stayed patience, continued getting better, which his film has proved, and the Irish staff finally pulled the trigger and offered JoJo this past Sunday.

Like I said, Notre Dame has always been on his mind and it didn’t even take a week to make it official. The location and combination of relationships, academics and football was never going to be matched for him. Johnson holds 18 offers from the likes of Michigan State, Iowa and Purdue. He was a one time Northern Illinois and also a Cincinnati commit before decommitting in October.

Johnson tweeted this out on Tuesday:

For Notre Dame, this recruiting class is shaping up to be a special one, as Johnson can do so many incredible things on the football field. With the CFP rankings coming out on Tuesday night, and the Irish, behind quarterback Ian Book likely to be one of the top-4 teams, the commitment from Johnson adds to what should be a special day for the program.
