The Notre Dame football team heads to North Carolina today to take on the No. 19 Tar Heels in what should be their last test in the regular season.

Notre Dame football is traveling to Chapel Hill this week to take on the North Carolina Tar Heels in an ACC matchup. The Irish are looking to improve to 9-0 on the season and further cement their spot in the ACC Championship Game next month.

It is vitally important to note that Brian Kelly mentioned in his press conference this week that the Notre Dame football team will be enjoying their Thanksgiving feast on Saturday following this game. So, if the Irish look sluggish this Friday, we cannot blame it on a turkey hangover.

This is undoubtedly Notre Dame’s toughest remaining game of the regular season. The game has been made even tougher with the injury news we learned of the past two weeks.

The vaunted Irish offensive line will be missing two starters when they take the field on Friday. Starting center Jarrett Patterson suffered a foot injury during the Boston College game that required season-ending surgery. Then, starting right guard Tommy Kraemer needed an emergency appendectomy this past weekend.

Sophomore Zeke Correll will start at center, and redshirt junior Josh Lugg will start at right guard. Lugg is regarded as Notre Dame’s sixth offensive lineman and has filled in along the offensive line the past two seasons. Correll has less experience at the college level, but Brian Kelly and Jeff Quinn have plenty of confidence in him.

Most are expecting this to be a very close game that features a ton of points. Here is how some of our writers at Slap The Sign see the game playing out.
