Notre Dame football needs a blowout victory on Saturday against Syracuse

Dominating win vs. Orange a must

In what is likely Ian Book‘s final home game inside Notre Dame Stadium, expect the veteran signal-caller to come out and have his best game yet. Book has seriously turned a corner this season, coming up with clutch plays time and time again, and one could argue he should be in the Heisman Trophy conversation.

For Notre Dame, a blowout win will show the College Football Playoff voters that they have finished off their regular season schedule in style, and give them more equity going into the ACC title game. It is going to be very difficult to beat Clemson twice in one season, so by beating Syracuse in blowout fashion, the Irish still could get into the CFP, even with a loss against the Tigers.

Not to say the Irish cannot beat the Tigers again, as their defense is playing at a high level, and Kyren Williams has proven himself to be the best running back in the conference. The problem is going to be Lawrence, who is definitely looking for revenge after watching his teammate lose against Notre Dame the last time, and there is no way he wants the Irish to come into the ACC for one season and win a title.
